National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling
The National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling (NFMC) Program was Congress approved in December 2007. Under this legislation $180 million was approved for the National Foreclosure Mitigation (NFMC) Program. Congress selected Neighbor Works America to administer the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling (NFMC) Program and to direct the funds to be used in “areas of greatest need”. The grants from the program is provided to HUD approved and state housing finance agencies. The NFMC program is designed to support a rapid expansion of foreclosure intervention counseling in response to the nationwide foreclosure crisis. The grant is designed that no money will be paid to the homeowner nor the servicer (your mortgage company), but to provide counseling to you with no charge to you.

Head Start Program
Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity, Inc., Head Start is a federally-funded child development program designed to prepare economically disadvantaged children for kindergarten. We also link families with services that will promote child and family success and lead to self-sufficiency. Counties served are: Franklin, Vance, Warren and Granville Counties. Services are provided for families who meet income guidelines. No fees are charged.
